GENUSEE
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Genusee is a new company developing a line of everyday, sustainable eyewear, both sunglasses and optical glasses. Genusee is looking for a space to not only get their product out into the world but to spread awareness for the increasing amount of plastic waste left behind in Flint Michigan due to the Flint water crisis.
CONCEPT: I took inspiration from the history of Flint Michigan and the water crisis which plays such a strong role in Genusee’s mission. Drawing from the idea of water, I wanted to incorporate aspects of the fluidity in my design. The natural, reclaimed materials in the space follows Genusee’s mission to recycle and reuse the plastic that is polluting the environment.
